Hypnotherapists use hypnotherapy so we can interact with your unconscious, guiding you to solve the problems that your conscious brain alone cannot. The hypnotic state allows your unconscious the ability to accept these solutions as permanent and ongoing.
When relaxed in a trance state, your conscious mind is also relaxed, so allowing the hypnotherapist to communicate with your unconscious mind.
Because hypnotherapy modifies your unhelpful behaviour patterns, you can then be in control of how you behave. It uses your natural trance state to uncover the thoughts and memories that led to this issue, and which continue to maintain it.

The trance state is a natural phenomenon which occurs numerous times throughout each person’s day, such as when day-dreaming or when driving a car and suddenly realising you had not been aware of the journey for the previous while. Hypnosis is not the same as sleep and has different effects on the mind and body. It is a pleasant, relaxed state.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
EFT is a form of “psychological acupressure” – an emotional clearing technique that releases any ‘stuck’ emotions which are preventing you from moving forward in your life.
EFT often works where nothing else will.
Problems that have caused intense distress in the past, sometimes for many years, will disappear. Potential future events which have been causing anxiety will become easy to face. EFT can be applied to all emotional issues, whether from the past, in the present or about the future.
EFT is used by tapping with your fingertips, on your energy meridians (also used for acupuncture but for EFT no needles are used). It is simple and easy to apply.
Physical vitality and peace of mind rely on the clear, balanced flow of these energies. If the energy is disrupted it results in reduced functioning, creativity and potential.
The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.
EFT balances the disrupted energy and so successfully relieves you of any issues. Once the energy disruption is released, your memories will lose their emotional intensity and negative feelings will disappear.
Our thoughts constantly create patterns of energy, which in turn release hormones, chemicals and neurotransmitters. EFT interrupts this chain of events, so preventing the previously expected emotional reaction. EFT is a perfect adjunct to hypnotherapy and is a useful tool in the hypnotherapists toolbox.
There is at least an 85% success rate with EFT.
EFT has been successfully applied to an enormous range of issues from small, niggling difficulties through to PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). The process works just as well for the deep-rooted issues as it does for minor irritations and once all aspects of the problem have been addressed, the results are usually permanent. EFT also achieves excellent results with many physical conditions.
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
You were not born with low self-esteem, or a tendency to overeat, or suffering from compulsive behaviours – you have learnt these habits and then practised them so often that they become part of ‘who you are’.
For example, you might be overweight and want to be slimmer and healthier, but your brain still suggests that food will make you feel better when in fact you feel anything but happy about your overeating. It has become an ingrained pattern of behaviour and can seem impossible to stop.
NLP is the study of how our mind interprets the information it receives through our senses (sight, sound, touch, smell, taste) into a ‘language’ that it can understand. It will assist you to change whatever it is you are doing, into behaviours that will give you the results you want.
NLP is used to eradicate phobias, anxiety, anger, trauma, grief and guilt; improve performance – sports, business or academic; and improve any aspect of your life where communication, whether internal or external, is a factor.
NLP’s potential application is almost unlimited.
NLP enables you to become more aware of your thoughts and how you translate those thoughts into actions. Your mind and body are inextricably linked so the quality of your thoughts impacts on your body’s stress levels. Negative thoughts place a strain on your immune system and so create conditions for disease and ill health. Replacing these negative thought patterns with positive ones can assist good emotional and physical health and speedy recovery from illness.
NLP comes from the study of excellence and the subsequent teaching of those patterns to others. Each person is unique and sees the world from his own unique perspective. Throughout his life a person will use his experiences to make sense of events, developing patterns that they will continue to follow. This will be whether the resultant behaviours are good or bad. NLP can help make sure they are good.
